IDS supports a full range of directional drilling bits through its' engineering design, field testing
and 30 years of manufacturing experience. IDS is continually utilizing the newest diamond technology
in our Accu-Bit designs.
Medium to Hard Formation - Impregnated Accu-Preg - Specifically designed to meet the challenges of
today's drilling utilizing synthetic man-made diamonds impregnated into a variety of metal matrix
choices. Matching the bit design to the rock type is our specialty and is supported through 30 years
of experience with successful directional motor runs in hard rock. Formation types include: Siltstone,
Schist, Weathered Granites, Limestone with Chert, Gniess and Quartzite.
Medium Formaiton - Thermally Stable Accu-Set - This design utilizes self-sharperning, triangular and
cylindrical shaped diamond materials. This is an aggressice alternative for natural diamonds yielding
increased penetration rates. Formation types include: Shale, Sandstone to abrasice Siltstone and
Limestone. Accu-Set has been used for geothermal volcanic rock.
Soft to Medium Formation - Polycrystalline. The Accu-Cut combines sharp drag bit cutting efficiencies
with the long life of diamond protection. High drilling rates using Accu-Dril® motors results in long
life utilizing disc-shaped tungsten carbide cutters with diamond facing. Large cutter technology is
used with high-torque motors and small cutters are used with high-speed motors.
Note: IDS supplement its manufactured diamond bits with tri-cone soft and hard tooth journal bearing
bits through its' relationship with OEM Manufacturers. As a result, IDS can supply a complete range
of bit designs to handle a wide variety of drilling challenges on the most demanding directional
drilling projects.
